Our Team

  • Jai Chabria

Our Ohio Renewal paid Jai Chabria $63,425, the single biggest line item in the organization’s budget—and significantly more than the organization spent on programming. Now, Jai Chabria is leading another of Vance’s failing endeavors, this time as Vance’s top political advisor in his run for U.S. Senate.

  • Dr. Sally Satel

Vance sponsored a year-long residency for Dr. Sally Satel, who parroted Purdue Pharmaceutical talking points. In her own words, she said she was “sent there [Ohio] by JD Vance.”

Dr. Satel was the center of a ProPublica investigation for the key role she played in Purdue Pharma’s PR campaign to downplay the risks of OxyContin so they could continue to profit off Americans struggling with addiction.

According to a ProPublica investigation, Satel shared drafts of her articles with Purdue Pharma officials and wrote several essays downplaying the dangers of OxyContin. Purdue’s PR firm also prepped and pitched Satel for national media appearances where she further pushed the company’s line that prescription painkillers were not driving this deadly epidemic.

In addition to Purdue leadership, Dr. Satel has another prominent public endorsement from Silicon Valley venture capitalist J.D. Vance, who says he is “proud of” Dr. Satel’s work here in Ohio.
